The EsGRID and ExGRID
controlsSystem Requirements... |
ExGRID is built upon the original EsGRID control and whilst it extends it's capabilities markedly, it is not an outright replacement for EsGRID in that many applications will be better suited to the original EsGRID control.

The original EsGRID control ran fine on Windows 95 onwards. With the many additions and upgrades made in the interim I do doubt whether the latest version will compile (or indeed function) on these systems. For example, we now import a function from the msimg32 library (GradientFill) which I suspect may not be available on these early versions of Windows? Unfortunately, I am unable to test EsGRID on these systems. EsGRID has been tested on Windows 2000 onwards, however, (including Windows 7) and has been shown to run fine on these systems. EsGRID (and ExGRID) compiles fine with Purebasic x86 and x64 (64-bit compiler) and run fine within 32-bit and 64-bit Windows applications. (Bear in mind that ExGRID is still in beta form at the moment!) In terms of a minimal specification, therefore, I would suggest that EsGRID / ExGRID requires a 'decent' mid-range machine (512 MB ram, Pentium 4 etc.) and is best run on versions of Windows from 2000 onwards - indeed I will not be supporting versions of Windows prior to 2000. In terms
of suitable uses for an EsGrid/ExGRID and any limitations, as I see
them, I would point the reader to the FAQ section. |
